Used Hyundai Verna AC Compressor
AC compressor failure on a Verna typically shows up as no cooling with the clutch not engaging, a noise that appears only when the AC is switched on, or a system that loses gas repeatedly from the shaft seal. New OEM compressor pricing is one of the more common reasons customers come to us.
Compatibility
These are the factors that decide whether a used AC compressor will fit your Hyundai Verna. We confirm every one of them against your vehicle before we quote.
- Generations covered
- Verna (2006-2010), Fluidic Verna (2011-2016), Next-Gen Verna (2017-2022)
- Engines
- 1.4 / 1.6 VTVT petrol, 1.4 / 1.6 CRDi diesel
- What changes the part
- Engine, generation, pulley diameter and groove count, clutch connector type, and refrigerant specification
- Interchangeable across the range?
- No. Confirm pulley and connector against the existing unit before ordering.
OEM part number
Hyundai AC compressor part numbers on the Verna generally begin with 97701-. The label sits on the compressor body and is often obscured by road grime — clean it gently before photographing. If the label is unreadable, a clear photograph of the pulley and connector is the next best thing.
Most customers do not have a part number, and that is fine. Vehicle details plus a photograph of the existing unit get us there.
What we check before sale
- Visual and mechanical inspection of the body, mounting points, ports and shaft seal area for oil leakage
- Pulley and clutch assessment for bearing noise, play and clutch face condition
- Shaft rotation check for seizure, roughness or excessive drag
- Clutch coil continuity and engagement check
- Photographs of the actual unit, including the pulley, connector and label
A compressor cannot be fully validated off the vehicle. Full performance testing needs the unit installed in a charged, leak-free system. We are explicit about that rather than claiming a bench test proves cooling performance.
Condition
We grade on body condition, oil leakage, clutch and pulley condition, and shaft rotation. Units showing seal weep or clutch damage are not offered.
Warranty
AC compressors are warranty-eligible parts, subject to our standard conditions. Installation matters here more than on most components: the system must be flushed, the receiver drier or accumulator replaced, the correct oil type and quantity used, and the system properly evacuated before charging. A compressor destroyed by debris from a previous failure or by incorrect oil charge is not a warranty claim.

Send your vehicle details and a photograph of the part. No OEM part number required — we work it out from what you give us.
