Warranty policy

How warranties work on the Sasta Spares marketplace — who gives them, what we require, and how a claim is handled.

Who gives the warranty

Whoever sold the part does. Most parts here are sold by independent verified sellers, and their warranty is theirs rather than Sasta Spares’s: we require them to state it before you buy, record it permanently, and pursue a claim with them on your behalf. Some parts Sasta Spares sells itself, and for those the warranty is ours and the claim is against us directly. Which applies to your part was disclosed to you before you paid, and is on the record of the deal. In both cases you raise the claim the same way — with us.

1. What sellers must state

Every bid and every listing must state the warranty being offered, including:

  • Its duration, running from the date of delivery
  • What it covers, and what it does not
  • Whether the remedy is replacement, refund, or either
  • Expressly, where no warranty is offered

A seller who offers no warranty is permitted to say so. A seller who states nothing at all cannot bid.

2. How we record it

The warranty terms, the description, the photographs and the price are stored against the deal record at the moment the buyer accepts. They cannot be edited afterwards by either party. This record is what we rely on when assessing a claim.

3. Conditions that generally apply

Unless a seller states otherwise, a seller warranty is understood to be conditional on all of the following. A seller may offer more generous terms; they may not offer less than they stated at the point of sale.

  1. No physical damage. The part is free of impact damage, cracked housings, sheared mountings, damaged threads or damaged connectors not present at delivery.
  2. No overheating damage. Where applicable to the component, no sign of overheating, seizure or heat-related failure arising after delivery.
  3. No dismantling or tampering. The part has not been opened, repaired, modified, repainted or re-stamped, and any seller marking remains intact.
  4. Correct installation. Installed by a competent mechanic or workshop, using the correct procedure and torque values, with any related consumables the job requires.
  5. Correct application. Fitted to the vehicle and specification supplied when the requirement was posted.

4. Making a claim

  1. Raise the claim through Sasta Spares within the warranty period, against the specific deal. Contact 8655006733 by phone or WhatsApp, or email support@sastaspares.com.
  2. Describe the symptom, when it appeared, and what the fitting workshop found. Provide photographs, video or diagnostic output where available.
  3. We put the claim to the seller and apply the recorded terms. Where the seller is an independent one we contact them separately; where Sasta Spares sold the part, the claim is ours to answer and there is no third party to consult.
  4. We record an outcome and notify you.

Raise the claim through Sasta Spares rather than pursuing the seller yourself. We hold the original bid, the photographs and the warranty terms as recorded at the point of sale, which is what makes a claim provable.

5. What Sasta Spares can do

  • Hold and produce the evidence of exactly what was promised
  • Put the claim to the seller and press for a resolution
  • Downgrade a seller's rating, suspend their ability to bid, or remove them
  • Suspend a seller's ability to trade while a claim is investigated

6. What Sasta Spares cannot do

This section is about a part sold by an independent seller, which is most of them. Where Sasta Spares sold the part itself, none of it applies: the warranty is ours, you paid us, and there is nobody else for us to pursue on your behalf.

  • Recover money it never held — buyers pay sellers directly and no payment passes through Sasta Spares
  • Warrant, inspect or vouch for a part it has never seen
  • Compel a seller to act beyond removing them from the marketplace
  • Compensate for labour, towing, diagnostic time or loss of use of a vehicle

Sasta Spares's own liability is limited as set out in the terms and conditions.

7. Exclusions

Seller warranties do not ordinarily cover:

  • Labour, diagnostic time, recovery or towing charges, or consumables used in fitting or removal
  • Consequential loss of any kind, including loss of use of the vehicle or loss of earnings
  • Damage caused by a fault elsewhere in the vehicle — for example an alternator damaged by a defective battery or charging circuit, or an AC compressor damaged by debris from a previous failure, incorrect oil charge or an unflushed system
  • Failure arising from continued use after a fault became apparent
  • Normal wear on a used component performing as described
  • Parts fitted to a vehicle other than the one specified
  • Damage from accident, misuse, competition use, flood, fire, or unauthorised modification

8. Electronic components

Control units and certain other electronics often cannot be validated away from the vehicle, and may require coding, programming or immobiliser matching before they will function. Sellers must disclose this where it applies.

Failure arising from incorrect coding, incorrect programming, an unsuitable diagnostic procedure, or an underlying wiring or supply fault in the vehicle is not covered. Buyers should confirm with their workshop that a unit can be coded before accepting a bid.

9. Returns

Return arrangements and costs are confirmed when a claim is accepted. Parts returned without prior authorisation may not be accepted. See the return and replacement policy.

10. Statutory rights

Seller warranties are offered in addition to, and do not limit, any rights you have against the seller under applicable Indian consumer law.

11. Changes

We may update this policy. The version in effect at the time of a transaction applies to that transaction.
