1. About us

Sasta Spares, Mumbai, Maharashtra, India, operates www.sastaspares.com, an online marketplace on which buyers describe used original equipment manufacturer (OEM) automotive parts they require and verified independent sellers offer to supply them. Sasta Spares also sells parts from its own stock, alongside those sellers and on the same terms as them.

2. Who is selling the part

Sasta Spares sells only through listings. It does not bid on buyers’ enquiries. Bids are screened by Sasta Spares before a buyer sees them, so bidding against the sellers whose bids it reads first is not something Sasta Spares will do. When you post a requirement, every offer you receive comes from an independent seller.

Every part on this site is sold either by an independent verified seller or by Sasta Spares. Which it is decides who you are contracting with, who owes you a warranty, and who a return is against, so it is disclosed to you before you pay rather than after. It is not stated on the listing.

Where you posted a requirement and accepted a bid, the seller is always an independent seller, because Sasta Spares does not bid. That seller’s business name and city appear on the deal from the moment it is confirmed, before payment details are released, and they stay on the deal record, which neither side can edit afterwards.

Where you enquired about a listing, we contact you to arrange it. Who is selling that part is told to you during that conversation, before any payment is arranged or any money changes hands.

Enquiring commits you to nothing. You may withdraw after being told, having paid nothing and owing nothing.

Where an independent seller is selling, the contract of sale is between you and that seller. Sasta Spares does not own, stock, handle, inspect, test or transport the part; does not set its price; does not describe or grade it; and issues no warranty on it. We are not a party to that sale and are not agent for either side.

Where Sasta Spares is selling, we are the seller. The contract is with us, the description and grading are ours, the warranty stated is ours to honour, and a return or a defect claim is against us. Nothing in these terms limits the rights you have against a seller under the Consumer Protection Act 2019 or any other law, and clause 14 does not cap our liability to you as the seller of that part.

2a. What we do in every case

We do: verify the identity and credentials of sellers before allowing them to bid or list; require sellers to attach photographs of the actual part; require sellers to state condition and any warranty; keep a permanent record of every bid, listing, price and warranty term; release only the details a confirmed transaction requires; and operate a customer support and dispute process.

We do not: guarantee that any requirement will attract a bid, or that any transaction will complete; bid on any enquiry with our own stock; or give our own listings preference in screening, in placement, or in the order or content of what reaches a buyer. Our listings are screened against the same rules as everybody else’s.

3. Your account

You must register and verify a mobile number to use the marketplace. Sellers must additionally provide business documents and be approved by us before bidding or listing. You are responsible for the accuracy of the information you supply and for activity on your account. We may suspend or close an account that breaches these terms.

4. Nature of the goods

Parts offered are used original manufacturer components removed from other vehicles. They are not new and are not remanufactured unless a seller expressly describes them as such. Used parts carry signs of prior service; cosmetic marks, surface corrosion, discolouration and wear consistent with age and use are normal and are not defects.

The seller is responsible for describing the part accurately and for the photographs attached to their bid or listing.

5. Requirements, bids and listings

Posting a requirement is an invitation for sellers to make offers. It does not oblige you to buy. A bid is an offer by a seller, valid for the period stated on it.

A listing is an invitation to enquire, not an offer you can accept by paying. Enquiring about a listing does not oblige you to buy it, and a contract is formed only once price, condition and delivery are agreed between you and whoever is selling it — for a bid, when the buyer accepts it and the seller confirms availability.

Where the seller is an independent seller, that contract is between buyer and seller and Sasta Spares is not a party to it. Where the listing is one of Sasta Spares’s own, the contract is with Sasta Spares.

We may screen, decline or remove any requirement, bid or listing — including for prohibited parts, contact details placed in the content, suspected illegitimate stock, or inaccurate description.

6. Compatibility

Sellers bid on the basis of the vehicle information a buyer supplies. Buyers are responsible for supplying accurate details of the vehicle — model, year, engine, variant and transmission — and for disclosing any modification. Sellers are responsible for confirming that what they offer matches the application described.

Sasta Spares does not verify the compatibility of any individual part and makes no representation that a part will fit a particular vehicle.

7. Prices, fees and payment

The price of a part is set by whoever is selling it and stated in their bid or listing.

For a part sold by an independent seller, payment is made by the buyer directly to that seller, using the payment details the platform releases once the seller has confirmed availability. Sasta Spares is not involved in that payment at any point.

For a part sold by Sasta Spares from its own stock, payment is made to Sasta Spares — as the seller of that part, not as an intermediary holding money for anybody else.

Sasta Spares does not hold, process, receive or handle funds on behalf of any other seller at any time. No payment for a part sold by an independent seller passes through Sasta Spares, and Sasta Spares is not a payment intermediary, escrow agent or payment aggregator.

Where Sasta Spares sells a part from its own stock, it receives the price as the seller of its own goods. That is a sale, not the holding of money for somebody else, and it does not make Sasta Spares an intermediary in any other transaction on this platform.

Any platform fee payable by a buyer or seller is displayed before it is incurred. Applicable taxes are as stated.

8. Contact and privacy between users

Buyers and sellers identify each other by a Sasta ID while bidding. Following confirmation of a deal by both parties, Sasta Spares discloses only what the transaction requires: the seller's business name, city and registered payment details to the buyer, and the buyer's delivery address and a delivery contact to the seller. Sellers whose bids were not accepted receive nothing.

You must not attempt to circumvent this — by placing contact details in listings, descriptions, photographs or messages, or by soliciting a transaction off the platform. Doing so is grounds for suspension.

9. Delivery

Dispatch is arranged by the seller. Delivery estimates are provided in good faith and are not guaranteed dates. See the shipping policy.

10. Warranty

Any warranty is offered by whoever is selling the part. Where that is an independent seller, the warranty is theirs and not Sasta Spares's: we require them to state its terms before a buyer accepts, we record those terms permanently, and we will pursue a claim with them on a buyer's behalf. Where Sasta Spares is the seller, the warranty is ours and a claim is made directly to us. See the warranty policy.

11. Installation

Parts must be installed by a competent mechanic or workshop using correct procedures and torque specifications, together with any related components or consumables the job properly requires. Buyers are responsible for ensuring that any underlying fault is diagnosed and rectified before a replacement part is fitted. Sasta Spares does not carry out installation and accepts no responsibility for it.

12. Prohibited items and lawful stock

Sellers warrant that all parts offered were lawfully obtained and that they are entitled to sell them. Airbags, pyrotechnic restraint components, and any item whose sale is restricted by law may not be offered. We keep permanent records of listings and will cooperate with law enforcement where required.

13. Disputes between users

Where a dispute arises, either party may raise it through Sasta Spares. We will contact each party separately, review the record we hold, and record an outcome. Because Sasta Spares never holds funds, it cannot reverse a payment; its remedies are limited to applying the recorded evidence, adjusting a party's standing, and suspending or removing an account.

Our role is to facilitate resolution using the evidence we hold. We do not act as arbitrator, and our decision does not affect either party's legal rights against the other.

14. Liability

This clause limits what Sasta Spares owes you as the operator of the platform. It does not apply where Sasta Spares is itself the seller of the part — there our liability is a seller's liability and is not capped by this clause.

For a transaction between a buyer and an independent seller, Sasta Spares's total liability to you in connection with the platform and that transaction is limited to the total platform fees you have paid to Sasta Spares in respect of it, or where no fee was paid, to a nominal amount.

For a part sold by an independent seller, we are not liable for its condition, quality, description, compatibility, legality or fitness, nor for any seller's or buyer's acts or omissions. In no case are we liable for labour, diagnostic charges, recovery, loss of use of a vehicle, loss of earnings, or any indirect or consequential loss.

Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for any liability that cannot lawfully be limited. Nothing limits your statutory rights against the seller.

15. Intellectual property

The content, layout and branding of this website belong to Sasta Spares unless otherwise indicated. Photographs uploaded by sellers remain theirs, and by uploading them a seller grants Sasta Spares a licence to display and retain them in connection with the marketplace and its records.

Vehicle manufacturer names, model names and part numbers are used solely to identify the application of a part. Their use does not imply affiliation with, endorsement by, or authorisation from those manufacturers.

16. Website content

Guides and technical information on this website are general guidance. They are not a substitute for a proper diagnosis by a qualified mechanic on the vehicle itself.

17. Changes

We may update these terms. The version in effect at the time of a transaction applies to that transaction.

18. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of India. The courts at Mumbai, Maharashtra have jurisdiction over any dispute arising from them.
