The problem we exist to solve

Two things are true at once in the Indian car parts market. New OEM parts for older vehicles can be extraordinarily expensive — often a large fraction of what the car itself is worth. And the used parts market, which ought to be the obvious answer, is fragmented, hard to navigate and impossible to judge from the outside.

If you need an alternator for a nine-year-old car, you are choosing between a new OEM part priced as though the car were new, and a used market where you cannot easily tell what you are buying, who you are buying from, or what happens if it fails a week later.

Meanwhile the dismantler two districts away has exactly the part on a shelf, and no practical way for you to find out.

That gap — a real seller and a real buyer who cannot find or trust each other — is what Sasta Spares exists to close.

What we actually do

Most parts here are sold by independent sellers, who set their own prices, describe their own stock and answer for it. We verify who they are and hold the record of what was agreed. We also sell some parts ourselves, and where we do we answer for that part exactly as a seller must. Which of the two you are buying from is told to you before any money changes hands, and it is on the record of the deal. Listings themselves do not say, and you can ask us at any time.

What we provide is the thing the market has been missing: a reason for two strangers to transact.

• We verify who is here. Nobody bids or lists without their business documents, premises and registrations being checked by a person.
• We insist on evidence. Every bid and listing must carry photographs of the actual part — front, rear, connector or label, and any damage. Not a stock image of something similar.
• We answer for the platform. If a deal goes wrong you deal with us, not with a stranger, and we take it up with the other side ourselves.
• We hold contact back. Nothing is exchanged while bidding, and when a deal is confirmed only what the transaction needs is released. Losing bidders learn nothing about the buyer.
• We keep the record. Every bid, photograph, price and warranty term is stored permanently and cannot be revised afterwards.

About the name

Sasta means affordable. It does not mean cheap in the sense of poor quality, and that distinction is the entire business. Our job is to make good parts affordable — not to make cheap parts look good.

Which is what the punchline is really about. Spares kharido, spares becho — tension free. The buying and selling already happen in this market every day. It is the tension that we are removing.

Car owners who need an expensive component and want a sensible alternative to a new OEM part — most of whom, quite reasonably, do not know the technical name or part number of what they need. They do not have to. Tell us what the car is doing.

On legitimate stock

A used-parts marketplace is an obvious route to market for parts taken from stolen vehicles, and pretending otherwise would be dishonest. That is precisely why seller onboarding is done by hand rather than by a signup form, why we require business documents and registrations, why we keep permanent timestamped records of every listing, and why certain items — airbags and pyrotechnic restraints among them — are not permitted at all.
