Shipping policy
How parts get from a seller to a buyer, what is stated before you commit, and what Sasta Spares does when a consignment goes wrong.
Whoever sold it does — and who that is was disclosed to you before you paid. For a part sold by an independent seller, Sasta Spares does not hold, pack or transport it: we require the delivery cost and timeline to be stated before you accept, record the tracking reference against the deal, and take it up with the seller if a consignment does not arrive. For a part sold by Sasta Spares, we pack and dispatch it ourselves and the same cost and timeline are stated before you accept. A consignment that has not arrived is raised with us in both cases.
1. Coverage
Sellers on the marketplace dispatch across India. Serviceability for a given pin code depends on the seller's courier and transport partners and on the size and weight of the part. A seller must confirm they can deliver to your location as part of their bid.
2. Charges
Delivery charges are set by the seller and depend on destination, weight and dimensions. Large assemblies — engines, gearboxes, body panels — travel by surface transport and are charged accordingly.
The delivery charge is stated in the seller's bid, before you accept it. A seller may not add a shipping cost after a bid has been accepted.
3. Dispatch times
The seller states a dispatch time in their bid. Dispatch begins after the seller has confirmed availability and payment has been settled between the parties.
Sellers who repeatedly dispatch later than they stated lose standing and, eventually, the ability to bid.
4. Transit times
Indicative transit times once dispatched:
- Within the same city: typically 1 to 3 working days
- Metro cities elsewhere in India: typically 3 to 6 working days
- Other locations: typically 4 to 9 working days
- Large or heavy items by surface transport: longer, confirmed case by case
These are estimates provided by transport operators, not guarantees. Weather, strikes, festival periods and regional restrictions can extend them.
5. Packing
Sellers are required to pack appropriately to the component — protection for connectors, ports and machined faces, port sealing on hydraulic and AC components, and additional protection on lighting and body parts, which are the most vulnerable in transit. A seller whose packing repeatedly causes transit damage is removed.
6. Tracking
The seller enters the courier and tracking reference against the deal, and both parties can see it. For surface transport consignments this includes the consignment note details and destination office where relevant.
7. Your delivery address
Your address is released to the seller for dispatch only, after both parties have confirmed the deal. It is not shown while bidding, and it is never given to a seller whose bid you did not accept.
8. On delivery
- Inspect the outer packaging before accepting the consignment
- If the packaging is visibly damaged, photograph it before opening and note the damage with the delivery agent where possible
- Photograph the part before fitting
- Report any transit damage through Sasta Spares within 48 hours of delivery
See the return and replacement policy for what happens next.
9. Failed delivery and address accuracy
Give an accurate delivery address and a contact number that will be answered. Where a delivery fails because the address was wrong or the consignment was not collected, any re-delivery or storage charge levied by the transport operator is payable by the buyer.
10. If a consignment does not arrive
Raise it with customer support. We hold the tracking reference and the dispatch record, and we will pursue it with the seller on your behalf.
